Welcome back to EMS students, faculty, and staff for the 2023-2024 school year! I am super excited to see the hallways flooding with students and teachers. I cannot believe that summer is almost over and the school year is right in front of us. I hope you have taken the time this summer to do something fun, spend time with family and friends, and getting caught up on some sleep!
We believe that all students can learn. Our focus this year will be to create a learning environment in which all students can succeed. An emphasis on providing high quality learning and challenging instruction is the forefront goal of our district. Students will have the opportunity to maximize their learning and achievements. Our school has numerous learning programs for students to participate in. I encourage each student to try different ones and find their niche. These programs will set them up to be successful in life.
The El Dorado Springs Middle School faculty is a great group that cares deeply about each student and are highly qualified to serve the academic needs of our students. Students will be challenged in an environment where they feel safe and welcome. They will do what is best for each student.
Our curriculum is data driven and focuses on student achievement. Students will be held to high expectations and pushed to become leaders. We expect students to attend school regularly, be engaged in the classroom lessons and activities, and be mindful of those around them.
One of my goals this year is for each student to be involved in something in the school. That could be band, choir, sports, agriculture classes, stucco, art, drama, journalism, or something related to the interest of the student. There are tons of opportunities for our students at this school. I believe if they join one of these activities, they will enjoy school and meet other people who can help them throughout their school pathway.
I am very excited to be the Middle School principal this year! I cannot wait to get the school year started. I would encourage all middle school students to enjoy the last few days of summer break. Set some goals that you would like to achieve this school year by writing them down in a notebook. Don’t blink because once you do you may miss an opportunity. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you and cannot wait to see you on Aug. 23.
I cannot wait to see students grow into great leaders. “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader!” -John Quincy Adams
