Dear NEVC Families,

???????????????????????????????????

On behalf of the Northeast Vernon County R-1 School District, I am excited to welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope your family has enjoyed a safe, relaxing, and memorable summer filled with opportunities to recharge and create lasting memories.

As we prepare to welcome students back, our staff has been working throughout the summer to ensure our schools are ready for another successful year. Classrooms have been prepared, facilities have been refreshed, professional development has been planned, and we have made plans to provide every student with a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

At Northeast Vernon County R-1, our mission is to empower lifelong learners by fostering collaboration, innovation, and respect. We are committed to helping every student reach their full potential by providing high-quality instruction, meaningful opportunities, and strong relationships that support academic, social, and emotional growth.

The partnership between our schools and families is one of our greatest strengths. Your support, encouragement, and involvement play an essential role in your child’s success. We encourage you to stay connected throughout the school year by reading district communications, following our social media pages, attending school events, and maintaining regular communication with your child’s teachers.

As Wednesday, August 26, the first day of school, quickly approaches, please take a moment to review these important reminders to ensure your child is prepared for a successful start to the school year:

• Complete your child’s online enrollment through TeacherEase if you have not already done so.

• Attend Open House on Tuesday, August 25:

PreK–6th Grade: 4:30–6:00 p.m.

Grades 7–12: 6:00–7:30 p.m.

• Open House provides an excellent opportunity to meet teachers and staff, visit classrooms, receive important back-to-school information, and help your child feel confident and prepared for the first day of school.

• Review the Student/Parent Handbook and discuss school expectations with your child.

• Contact your child’s school office if you have any questions or need assistance before school begins:

NEVC Elementary: (417) 432-3196

NEVC Jr./Sr. High School: (417) 465-2221

Whether your family is returning to NEVC or joining us for the first time, we are honored to be part of your child’s educational journey. We look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, new opportunities, and many accomplishments.

Thank you for your continued trust and support of Northeast Vernon County R-1 School District. Together, we will continue Empowering Learners: Shaping Futures.

We can’t wait to welcome our Knights back and begin another outstanding school year!

Warm regards,

Christy Jones
