OPENING NIGHT – The El Dorado Springs High School and Middle School Journalism Classes presented a gallery of  beautiful and creative photography at the Opera House Arts Council Building on Wednesday, Nov.1. There were 101 prints by 56 students. All of them are for sale. Cookies and punch for tasting were available for the interested onlookers. The exhibit was also open on Nov 3 and 4 and will be open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30.

R-II Journalism Instructor Amber Francis said, “I was terrified pulling up to the event that evening that all of our pictures would have fallen down or that no one would come, but as always, I am blown away by the response our community has to our kids. Our pictures were all there, perfectly in place, and we had a line outside of the door before we even opened. The kids were so excited that we had so may visitors to the gallery and they are already talking about next year’s gallery and making plans. I am so thankful that the event went smoothly, and of course, we have notes for improving it for next year, but overall, I feel like it was a big success. I am so thankful to the Opera House Arts Council for hosting us and to Debbie Kay’s for providing our beautiful flower centerpieces which really added to the professionalism and ambiance of the event.”

Prints will be on sale until the last show date.
