After having Monday and Tuesday’s games cancelled, the Bulldogs Baseball team won their second conference game of the year and have a 5-4 overall record for the season. The Bulldogs scored two runs in the second inning and three in the third going on to beat Sherwood 14-0 Friday night.  Brett Alexander and Karson Burley lead the team offensively each recording two hits. Brett started the run scoring with a lead off single in the second.  Karson had a big, two RBI triple in the 5th inning. Kandyn Ewert, Marcus Mossman, Hunter Frame, Grady Crews, and Maverick Mitchell also contributed offensively.  Karson Burley started the game, pitching five scoreless innings with Hunter Frame coming in the 6th inning to close out the game.

“It was a good win for us Friday.  We spent two days indoors and then were to have two outside practices.  It is tough when you are expecting to play three games in the  week only to get one game in this week. We came out focused and had big hits up and down the line-up.  Grady was able to get a big double in the 6th inning and had a great diving catch earlier in the game.  Maverick Mitchell hit the ball hard all night.  Karson was steady on the mound as usual with Hunter coming in to finish the game. It was good to see Brett stay hot at the plate.  We have been talking all year about the fact that in order to be at our best all nine hitters have to produce.  We did so today!  We have a tough week of games in the Holden Tournament starting with Odessa Monday at 4 p.m.  This will be a challenge for us and we will have to have other people step up throughout the week in order for us to be successful.”
