ElDo 12 Liberal 6

Eldo fell behind early but came on strong the last four innings to end a three game losing streak. Marcus Mossman threw the first 2 2/3 innings before Karson Burley came on to finish out the third, fourth, and fifth innings. Kandyn Ewert and Cooper Greathouse each threw an inning to hold onto the win for the Bulldogs. Marcus Mossman led the Bulldogs with two hits. Cooper Greathouse, Brett Alexander, Karson Burley, and Andy Hall also contributed offensively.

“It was nice to get on the other side of the win/loss column. We wanted Marcus to go as long as he could and also get Karson some work before he had to pitch against Versailles. We came into our zone offensively the last four innings scoring seven runs in the 7th inning. It was good to see the contributions from many people including Caysen Stephens and Andy Hall. It happened to be a good start to an outstanding week of baseball!”

ElDo 5 Warsaw 1

The Bulldogs finished their last regular season conference game with a win over Warsaw. Hunter Frame threw seven amazing innings, only giving up one run to a good hitting Warsaw team. Kandyn Ewert, Brett Alexander and Hunter Frame lead the Bulldogs offensively.

Hunter has been so good for us all year long and pitched his best game of the year. He did a great job of throwing multiple pitches for strikes and held baserunners close all night. We didn’t play a perfect game defensively but played well enough to win against a good opponent. We did a great job of putting the ball in play especially with two strikes forcing Warsaw to make plays. We have talked all year long about finding ways to score even when we do not have many hits. We did just that and I am extremely proud of the team and their growth!”

ElDo 13 Versailles 11

Brett Alexander and Maverick MItchell lead the Bulldogs offensively with three hits each. Connor Bradley, Cooper Greathouse, Karson Burley, and Grady Crews also had good nights. Karson was able to get us into the fifth inning with Kandyn Ewert throwing the final three innings.

We were down 10 to 2 going into the fifth inning. We talked about the need for baserunners before the inning. We executed to perfection, scoring 11 runs in the inning. Kandyn Ewert gutted out the last three innings allowing the Bulldogs to come home with the victory. This victory gives the Bulldogs the number 2 seed in this week’s Conference Tournament getting a bye in the first round.” We had a really rough week last week in Holden, but responded the way that I knew that we were capable. This was a great win for our program!”

ElDo 1 Clever 11

Cooper Greathouse pitched the first 2 and 2/3 innings with Marcus Mossman going the remainder of the game. Connor Bradley and Marcus Mossman led the Bulldogs offensively.

We were tired from a long week of baseball and an emotional win Thursday night against Versailles. Give Clever all the credit. Their pitcher did a great job of keeping us off balance all night. We talked about the lack of energy and competitiveness after the game. Baseball is such a mental game and we need to keep improving in this area as we finish out the season.
