The El Dorado Springs boys basketball team began their season last week at the Warsaw Tournament. The six-seeded Bulldogs played the third seed the Cole Camp Bluebirds in the first round. The Bulldogs played well in the first half but were behind 34-29 at half time. The game was close throughout the second half but the boys fell short 57-67. Brayden Housh led the Bulldogs will 17 points. Preston Robison added 12 and Ian Esry had 10.

This put El Dorado into the losers bracket and against their next opponent the Butler Bears. The Bulldogs dominated the first half and went to halftime with a commanding 30-20 lead. Turnovers and missed free throws plagued the Bulldogs in the second half and the Bears came away with a 53-51 win. Brayden Housh led all scorers with 21 and Ian Esry added 14.

The Bulldogs have another full week of basketball. They travel to Buffalo on Monday, Archie on Tuesday, and Sherwood on Friday. The JV Bulldogs will also play in all those games and play in the Fort Scott Tournament this week.
