Tuesday’s game against Wheatland on senior night was a heartbreaker for the Lady Bulldogs Softball as they lost the lead late in a 14-8 defeat. The game was tied at six with Wheatland batting in the top of the fifth when the wheels came off.

ElDo collected 13 hits and Wheatland had nine in the high-scoring affair.

In the second inning, the Bulldog ladies got their offense started when Allyson Snodgrass singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Dampier earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Wheatland. She lasted seven innings, allowing 13 hits and eight runs while striking out five and walking one.

Snodgrass took the loss for El Dorado Springs Bulldogs Varsity. She surrendered 14 runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out six.

The Bulldog ladies totaled 13 hits in the game. Jace Cundiff, Paige Esry, Kortney Farris, and Haylee Smith all had multiple hits. Cundiff led  with three hits in four at bats.

Wheatland saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Sutt, Dampier, and Calhoun all managed multiple hits for Wheatland. Sutt went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Wheatland in hits.

ANOTHER PAGE IN HER BOOK – Lady Bulldogs Short Stop Paige Esry drove to her right and stopped the ball from going into the outfield when the Wheatland batter smashed a ground ball to Paige’s right. There was also a runner at second which she stopped from advancing. The batter beat out the throw to first but Paige stopped the girl from a double and possibly scoring a run, Coach Alyssa Sargent said.
