12/3/19 vs Knob Noster and Adrian

We started the season strong defeating Knob Noster 48-36. As a team we wrestled very well and had some key wins from Blayze McCullough, Hunter Austin and Ethan Parshall that allowed us to take the match. Immediately following Knob Noster we wrestled Adrian. We fell to Adrian 51-30. We wrestled tough but lost some of the key matches we needed to win the dual. Jace Shinn lost to a tough opponent in Micheal McCoy getting pinned with 15 seconds left in the third and Duane Perkins lost in a decision  2-0 to Baxter Lowe. Overall, we matched up well with both teams and had a very successful opening night.

On the Girls side the Lady Bulldogs fell to Knob Noster 66-6 and defeated Adrian 12-0. Leah Moore won her first match ever against Knob Nosters Annamarie Alviar, pinning her in the first period and Madison Garcia went 1-1 on the night getting her first win ever as well defeating Emily Janssen of Adrian. The girls wrestled very well and brought home the first girls team win for El Dorado Springs.

12/6/19 vs Buffalo

We fell to a tough conference opponent in Buffalo 51-30. We started the dual strong in the lighter weight classes with wins from Blayze McCullough, Josh Haberle and Hunter Boyles. As the meet progressed to the heavier weight classes we lost some of the key matches we needed to win. The team fought hard but fell short. Buffalo is well coached and has a good program and we look forward to seeing them again later in the season.

On the Girls side the Lady Bulldogs fell 54 to 12. Annabelle Govoro won her first match ever with a pin in the first period. The girls wrestled hard and unfortunately we give up too many open spots to be able to compete against a team with a full line up like Buffalo had.

12/7/19 Lone Jack Tournament

We traveled to Lone Jack for our first tournament of the year and had a very successful day. As a team we took 4th overall. On the boys side Blayze McCullough took 3rd at 106, Jace Shinn took 3rd at 113, Josh Haberle took 1st at 126, Hunter Boyles took 2nd at 152, Ethan Parshall took 1st at 220, and Ethan Copenhaver took 4th at 285. On the girls side Annabelle Govoro took 4th at 125, Madison Garcia took 3rd at 152, and Leah Moore took 4th at 235.
