The 2020 Football season came to an official end Monday Dec. 21. It was a great celebration of this year’s teams achievements as well as recognizing their efforts in growing the program overall. The team ended the year with a record of 3-7, however, do not let that record persuade you from thinking this was not a really good football team. At the conclusion of the season the schedule that the team competed against was one of the toughest in the state. Of the 10 games we played, we played against a state champion, two-final fours teams, five district champions, seven district finalists, and nine district semifinalists…five of the teams we played finished ranked in the top six in their respective classifications. That is an EXTREMELY difficult schedule regardless of class or sport. As their coach I was extremely proud of their efforts and willingness to continue to get better in the face of adversity. On a more positive note, this years team achieved something no other ElDo team had done in winning four straight Cedar County Bowls. As well as becoming an internet sensation going viral with a video made of the 9/11 ceremonies that took place at Bulldog stadium.

To close I would like to take a moment and thank our sponsors, administration, BOE, parents, players, and community for their continued support of the team, coaches, and players. It does not go unnoticed and truly appreciated. Playing football is not an easy thing to do and takes an uncommon person to do it. We have a great group of kids leaving the program better young men than what they were when we started and I am extremely anxious for the remaining players and younger players coming up. The future is bright for ElDo Football as well as community, as the number 1 goal of our program is help boys grow into young men and become positive assets to our society. Thank you again to everyone who had a part in this season. I am extremely thankful we were able to have one regardless of outcome. Until next fall, stay true to who you are and conitue to better yourself each day! #BulldogPride #OneFamily
