The El Dorado Springs Bulldog football team traveled to Slater High School on Friday night where the ElDo offense put up 44 first half points and defeated the Slater Wildcats 51-6.

The Wildcats began the night on offense and failed to convert on 4th down, giving the Bulldogs the ball at their own 45-yard line. Six plays later, Tanner Witt ran 33-yards into the endzone for the first points of the game. Trey Babcock added the two-point conversion to make it 8-0.

On the next Slater drive, Jake Schieffer intercepted a Wildcat pass at the El Dorado Springs 13-yard line. Two plays later, Witt again scored, this time from 86 yards away. Babcock found Colton Collins in the endzone for the two-point conversion to put ElDo up 16-0.

On the ensuing kickoff, Lance Smith stripped the Wildcat ball carrier and Isaak Shadden was able to recover the ball bringing the Bulldog offense back onto the field. Two plays later, Babcock hit Schieffer in the endzone for an 8-yard touchdown. Babcock ran the ball in for the two-point conversion giving ElDo a 24-0 lead with 2:46 left in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Bulldog offense kept the pressure on the Wildcats as Babcock hit Shelby McKinney on a 57-yard touchdown pass. Babcock ran in the two-point conversion to put the Bulldogs up 32-0. The Bulldog defense again held firm on the next Slater drive forcing a turnover on downs. ElDo again drove down the field where Cade Whitesell scored from 3-yards out. The PAT was missed and the Bulldogs led 38-0 with 5:17 left in the half.

On the first play of the second half, Keilan Jaques forced the Slater QB to fumble and Kaleb Raff dove on the loose ball for the Bulldogs. ElDo went on a 9-play drive that ended with Schieffer diving into the end zone from 1-yard out. The ensuing PAT attempt was blocked, which brought the score to 44-0.

In the second half, Brayden Housh connected with Collins for a 5-yard touchdown while Babcock added the kick after to put ElDo up 51-0. The Wildcats did manage to get on the scoreboard with a 19-yard pass as time expired in the game to bring the final score to 51-6.

Tanner Witt led the offense with 120 yards of rushing on four carries with two TDs, while Trey Babcock threw for two TDs, and finished with 102 yards by completing 3 of 5 passes.

Trenton Hardie carried 10 times for 72 yards. Jake Schieffer rushed five times for 18 yards and one TD. Trey Babcock ran three times for 13 yards and 7 points. Cade Whitesell carried three time for 10 yards and one TD. Colton Collins ran twice for 23 yards. Braden Housh rushed once for 15 yards. Isaak Shadden ran three times for 35 yards. Tylor Wingert carried once for five yards. Clayton Collins ran once for two yards. Gavin Reed rushed once for two yards. Dylan Gallette carried once for three yards. Dakota Long rushed once for nine yards.

Defensively, Dakota Long led the way with 10 tackles and had half a TFL (tackle for a loss), while Shelby McKinney added 8 tackles, including two tackles for loss and half a sack. Trey Babcock had seven tackles, 1.5 TFL and half a sack. Dylan Gallette made three tackles, one of them a TFL. Jordan Gallette made one tackle. Trey Graves had four tackles, one of them a TFL. Wyatt Graves made four tackles one of them a sack. Trenton Hardie had four tackles. Cameron Hargrove made one tackle. Blake Holder had five tackles, one of them half a TFL. Brayden Housh made two tackles one of them a TFL and deflected a pass. Ricky Huff had one tackle. Keilan Jaques made six tackles, one of them half a TFL, one a sack and forced two fumbles. Dagan McIntire had half a TFL. Daniel Minehart made one tackle. Seth Minehart had one tackle. Bryson Rader made one tackle. Kaleb Raff had one tackle and recovered a fumble. Gavin Reed made two tackles, one of them half a TFL.  Jake Schieffer made three tackles aind intercepted a pass. Isaak Shaden had two tackles and recovered a fumble. Lance Smith made one tackle and forced a fumble. Cade Whitesell had two tackles. Tanner Witt made two tackles, one of them half a TFL.

The Bulldogs (2-3) next travel to Waynesville to take on Herculaneum this Friday night at 7 p.m.
