The El Dorado Christian School Junior High Lady Buffalos brought home the MOKAN Conference Championship title on Saturday in Fort Scott after an impressive performance against the previously undefeated Christian Learning Center team.

The championship match was a rematch against a team the Lady Buffalos had lost to twice earlier in the season. This time, however, the girls showed remarkable teamwork and determination. The match went the full three games, with the deciding third set being a nail-biter at 9–14 (with play to 15). Refusing to give up, the Lady Buffalos rallied point by point to claim the victory and secure the championship (17-15).

Ashlynn Judd and Sadie Watkins were named to the Second Team All-Tournament roster.

Mr. Steve Altheide, ECS Athletic Director, shared his pride in the team’s effort, saying,

“I witnessed a never-give-up, relentless desire-to-succeed effort today that made me incredibly proud of our team, win or lose — but they did the unexpected! Congrats ladies!”

In addition to the team’s championship win, Ashlynn Judd and Sadie Watkins were both recognized for their outstanding play throughout the tournament and were named to the Second Team All-Tournament roster.

The Lady Buffalos are coached by Casey Judd and Tessie Watkins, who have guided the team through a strong season marked by growth, teamwork, and perseverance.

It was an exciting and memorable day for the Lady Buffalos, whose hard work, teamwork, and perseverance paid off in championship form.
