SOPHIA BRYSON the daughter of Kelly Scott and the late Travis Bryson. She is pictured with mother Kelly and Tim Scott.

While a student at ECS Sophia has also participated in volleyball, student council and the Honor Society.

Sophia’s future plans include attending the State Technical College of Missouri for two years and to receive an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology.

Sophia’s favorite basketball memory includes numerous team sleepovers, spending time bonding together as teammates and having lots of fun.

Sophia’s favorite Bible verse is Joshua 1:9 (NIV) 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Sophia’s advice to future basketball players is to remember that all the hard practices and frustrating losses are preparing you for success, so never give up and do not quit.

NELLIE DRESCH is the daughter of Terri Dresch.

In addition to basketball, Nellie has participated in volleyball, Student Council, and in Ag, as well as serving as a teacher’s aide, and she has also participated in photography and painting.

Nellie’s future plans are to go into some type of child care.

Nellie’s favorite basketball memory is staying in an Airbnb in Joplin during the state tournament last month, having fun together as teammates and advancing to this season’s state championship title game when few if any others expected them to get that far.   

Nellie’s favorite scripture is Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV) 6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of the enemy, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Nellie’s advice to future players is to never give up, no matter what you face. Don’t stop when others tell you that you can’t accomplish something. Don’t quit.

NATE PYLE is the son of Joshua and Wendy Pyle.

Additional sports, hobbies and interests include playing baseball, mechanics and construction.

Nate’s future plans include continuing to work in construction and building rental homes.

Nate’s favorite basketball memory is winning the state championship!   

Nate’s favorite scripture is Proverbs 22:1 (NIV) A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.

His advice to future players is to always give your best effort every game and every practice. Leave everything on the court.

JASON CONDUFF is the son of Jake Conduff and Kellie Burns.

In addition to basketball, Jason enjoys working on vehicles and being outdoors.

Jason is unsure of his future plans. Jason’s favorite basketball memory is stacking up wins against teams that ECS hadn’t beaten in several seasons and winning the 2023-24 state championship.

Jason’s favorite scripture verse is Psalm 23:4 (NIV)  ”Even though I walk      through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

Jason’s advice to future players is to put in the work and give God the praise for all you do and enjoy the time you have on the court, as it has a way of building lifelong friendships and amazing memories.
