Bump, Set, Spike

The ECS volleyball team started the season with a win against Outreach Christian Education. The JH girls came back in match three for the win, while the varsity girls won both matches. The volleyball team played the soccer team at the pep rally the next day. The varsity team beat the boys, but the JH girls unfortunately lost to the younger soccer players. Coach Cari said, “We have a strong group of girls who show lots of talent. We are ironing out some wrinkles and working through some setbacks. Our team shows a lot of promise for the future.”  Let’s keep cheering on our Lady Buffalos this season.

Goal!

For the first time ever, we have a soccer team! All the boys are super excited. Their first home game was on September 3 against Christian Learning Center from Fort Scott, Kansas. They did an amazing job! Isaac Hubbard said that Jude Wyant’s free kick was his favorite part of the game. Mrs. Johnson said, “ I am very excited about this very first season of boys soccer at ECS. Glory to God for the remarkable win last night. The boys gave their all, and we are so proud of them.” Congrats, Buffalos, on an amazing first win. Keep working hard.

Run Beyond the Limits

Our cross country runners had their first race September 3, in Bolivar, Missouri. Everyone had a wonderful time. Jacob Mulloy said that he had fun, but he wishes there were more runners on the team. Megan Johnson loves that she is getting to know her team better, while Naz Pieterson said that he felt stronger mentally and physically after his race. Everyone did a spectacular job. ECS cross country coach, Mr. Steve Altheide, said, “I’m very excited for our young runners.”  Keep up the good work, runners.
