On Tuesday, October 21 the Bulldogs played host for the El Dorado Springs Cross Country Invitational out at the Gene Pray Memorial Golf Course with 22 other teams in attendance. The weather was great for a cross country meet.
The middle school girls got things started at 4:00 pm. Raelynn Watts was the lone medalist for the MS Lady Bulldogs finishing 5th with a time of 14:59 for the 2 mile course. Raelynn was joined by Alayna Coleman, Luna Chilton, Lynzie Morgan and Kyler Spencer to finish 3rd as a team.
The middle school boys were up next. Jaxen Simmons and Alex Melech led the way for the Bulldogs, with Jaxen finishing 6th with a time of 13:45.08 and Alex finishing 7th with a time of 13:45.15. These two were joined by Aiden Terry, Bradley Smith, Sawyer Francis, Grady Albert and Camdyn Penington to find themselves finishing 2nd as a team.
The High School Girls 5K Race was up next. Braylie Steward led the way for the Lady Bulldogs finishing 2nd with a time of 21:02.38. Karcyn Rader finished 8th with a time of 22:44.78 followed shortly after by Hannah Seitz in 9th with a time of 22:51.04. Grace Seitz finished 18th with a time of 23:17.64 while Riley Lee finished 20th with a time of 23:34.32. Aleta Lyness joined the team, just 1 place out of medaling to find the Lady Bulldogs in 1st place winning the team title.
The High Schools rounded out the day. Wyatt Klaiber led the way for the Bulldogs, winning the race with a course record time of 15:35.22. Shane Fletcher finished 3rd with a time of 16:34.03. Sylas Fletcher finished 6th with a time of 17:47.66 while Rylan Coleman finished 13th with a time of 18:41.80. These four were joined by Carter Smith, Camden Watts, Wilson Burchett, Wyatt Strawn and Preston Moore, to also find themselves atop the team standings, winning the team title.
The middle School Bulldogs will close out their season on Saturday, October 25 at the Missouri Middle School Cross Country Championships at Lucas Oil Speedway. For the High School, they will compete in the MSHSAA Class 2 District 2 meet on Saturday, November 1 to try to qualify for the MSHSAA Class 2 State Championships on Saturday, November 8 at Gans Creek in Columbia. El Dorado Springs will play host to the Class 2 and Class 3 District 2 Meets this year at the Gene Pray Memorial Golf Course. The Class 3 Races will start at 10:00 and 10:45 on Saturday, with the Bulldogs Girls racing at Noon with the Boys racing at 12:45. It’s a great time to be a Bulldog! GO BULLDOGS!
