We started off losing a tough game Friday night at Dadeville 12-8. We pitched and hit well enough to win but struggled defensively. Karson Burley, Brett Alexander, and KanDyn Ewert pitched.  KanDyn Ewert and Brett Alexander also collected two hits.

“I thought that we competed well getting back in the game, scoring 3 runs in the 5th inning. We could not overcome the physical and mental errors that were made, but fought hard, giving us a chance to win at the end of the game.”

Eldo HIgh School Baseball won their first home game 10-2 Saturday  against East Newton. The bulldogs got a great starting pitching performance from Hunter Frame working into the 4th inning. Marcus Mossman came in to throw the final 3 1/3 innings. Cooper Greathouse, Kandyn Ewert, Connor Bradley, Marcus Mossman, Grady Crews, and Karson Burley each had hits for the bulldogs.

“This was a night and day performance from our first to second game. We had outstanding AB’s at the plate with a high level of execution. We have been talking about the importance of situational hitting and scoring runners when they are on base. Pitching was very good with a solid defensive performance. Hunter was huge for us tonight. He gave us exactly what we needed, getting ahead of hitters and getting three pitches over for strikes. I thought he ran out of gas in the 4th inning, and I should have taken him out of the game earlier. He set the tone and the team responded positively!”

The bulldogs have three games this week with two home games Tuesday and Friday.  Thursday the bulldogs travel to Lamar.
