El Dorado Springs high school team improved to 2-0 in conference play with an 8-0 win at Sherwood. Grady Crews and Connor Bradley both went 3-4. Kaden Burley and Brett Alexander each had two hits. Kaden also pitched five shut-out innings with Karson Burley pitching the last two innings.

“Kaden did a great job of filling up the strike zone, which was really needed with 3 conference opponents this week. Karson found a way to make good pitches when he had to in the final two innings for a shutout. We were very focused as a team, and I was proud of the way our team played and scored insurance runs in the last two innings.”

Tuesday the high school baseball team lost to Warsaw 18-2. El Dorado’s record is 2-6 with a 2-1 conference record. Aidan Reeves was 2-2 and did a nice job of throwing strikes.

“It is hard to be mentally prepared to play when the night before we had an away game in Sheridan. This is the part of maturing as a team and being ready to go every game. Give Warsaw the credit, they came ready to play. We need to learn how to deal with adversity in a more effective way, hoping our pitchers understand the need to throw strikes. We play Butler Thursday to complete our first half of conference play.”
