HARD WORK BRINGS REWARDS – On the evening of  Feb. 4, the Southwest Association of Tournaments hosted their Annual Awards Banquet in Neosho on the Campus of Crowder College. Students from Van Dyk’s Karate were present to be honored for the hard work they put in during the 2016 Tournament Points Race. Beautiful plaques and certificates were awarded to all competitors for the placing in their respective divisions. Five students from Van Dyk’s Karate were present to receive their awards.

Jordan Runkle who competed in the 5 & Under Novice Youth Division in 2016 received his 1st Place Champion awards for Open Hand Forms and Point Sparring and a 4th Place Certificate for 12 & Under Youth Traditional Weapons Forms.

Jacey Swopes who competed in the 6-7 Youth Novice Division received her 1st Place Champion awards for Open Hand Forms and Point Sparring and a 5th Place Certificate for 12 & Under Youth Traditional Weapons Forms.

Taylin Oberly who competed in the 8-9 Youth Novice Division received her 1st Place Champion awards for Open Hand Forms and Point Sparring and a 6th Place Certificate for 12 & Under Youth Traditional Weapons Forms.

Mason Gardner who competed in the 10-11 Youth Novice Division received his 2nd Place Certificates for Open Hand Forms and Point Sparring and a 3rd Place Certificate for 12 & Under Youth Traditional Weapons Forms.

Hunter Malensek who competed in the 10-11 Youth Novice Division received his 1st Place Champion Awards for Open Hand Forms, Point Sparring and 12 & Under Youth Traditional Weapons Forms.

We are very proud of our competitors and are looking forward to a great 2017 tournament seasons.
