The Lady Bulldogs entered the District tournament as the number one seed and proved why over their two games in the tournament. In the first game, the Lady Bulldogs took on Adrian. The Lady Bulldog’s smothering defense took control early as they built a 16 to 4 lead after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter, the Lady Bulldogs started to heat up and make shots from everywhere as they scored 30 points in the quarter taking a 46-8 lead into the half. The second half saw the Lady Bulldogs go on cruise control as they continued to make every shot difficult for Adrian and finished with a 58-19 victory. Scoring for the Bulldogs: Macie Mays 20, Reese Schaaf 17, and Tevi Gurley 9.
The District Championship saw Cedar County rivals El Dorado Springs and Stockton play. The Lady Bulldogs again came out and played great defense holding the Lady Tigers to 12 points, while scoring 42. In the second half the Lady Bulldogs held the Lady Tigers to 8 points to finish off with a 69-20 victory. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Macie Mays 26, Reese Schaaf 13 and Tenlie Steward, Neely Schaaf, and Tevi Gurly with 6. The Lady Bulldogs will play again Wednesday night against Lone Jack at Lee Summit North High school at 6 p.m.
