The Sun interviewed Lance Molz after the Bulldog track awards cereremony about his success at the state track meet Saturday.

Q. I noticed that you are limping tonight. Did you hurt your foot in the 200?

Something like that.

Q. Did it affect you running so many times?

Definitely.

Q. What was it like winning so fast?

I didn’t even know. I had no idea.

Q. You ran 10.63?

Yes.

Q. What was the school record before that?

I ran 10.74. Before that I believe it was one of the Blands – 10.94 or 10.97.

Q. And what was the state record?

The state record was 10.65.

Q, Are they going to let you have the title?

No. It will be unregistered, I guess you could put it.

Q. Or have an asterisk by it?

Q. You would probably rather of had the 100 title than you would the 200 this year.

Yes. My plan was to get both titles but not the same year. It’s kinda hard.

Q. What was your time in the 200?

22.5. I ran in 21.8 lat year.

Q. And your foot was hurting you Saturday?

Yes.

Q. Are you going on to college to run?

Oh, yeah, at SBU.

Q. Are they going to let you run track?

Yeah. (laughter)

Q. I’m excited for you.

I’ll see what I can do, I guess. We are all kind of curious now.

Q. About what?

How fast I can run.

Q. What are you going to do about your foot?

The trainers say it is a strain or something.

Q. Just stay off of it -s quit running?

Pretty much. It’s easier said than done, though.

Q. No reason to run this summer.
