by Brian Goatley,
Here are some results from Wednsday at SBU. We saw two school records broken.
First off, on the girls side: the 4 x 800 team, consisting of Sarah King, Emily Ring, Leah Rohlin and Ashley Knoll placed 7th in the small school division. Ashley Knoll went on to place 4th in the mile with a season best run, and then came back and broke the school record in the 3200, placing 4th with a time of 11:54.35. This broke a record that she set last year at State.
On the boys side: Brendan Parshall led the way winning the 200 m. dash (small school division) placing 2nd overall, with a time of 22.62. The 4 x 200 m. relay, consisting of Tanner Witt, Ryan Owens, Cody Rutledge and Brendan Parshall, placed 7th. In pole vault, Ethan Parshall tied the 12 foot 6 inch school record that he set last year, before teammate Brayden Housh went on to break the school record with a height of 13 foot 6 inches. Brayden finished 2nd with Ethan finishing 3rd. Shelby McKinney placed 5th in shot put, 7th in discus and then 2nd in Javelin, joined by teammate Brayden Housh for 8th in javelin.
On the day, we had a couple of breaks not go our way, but overall a pretty good day.
There were a total of 58 schools so there is quite a bit of competition.
