The El Dorado Christian School Buffalos men’s basketball team are state champions for the first time in over 15 years! After a very successful 25-3 season, Coach Brian Johnson led his team to a 1st place finish in their conference; a championship victory in their conference tournament; and wins all the way through the state tournament as the number one seed, all of which haven’t been done in over 15 years. The Buffalos claimed their state title in a fast-paced, down-to-the-wire state championship game where they defeated Blue Ridge Christian (Belton) with a final score of 67-61. Scoring for the game was very well rounded as 4 of the 5 starters for ECS scored at least 14 points. Individually, Senior Jude Wyant and Sophomore Jacob Johnson were awarded 1st team all-conference, 1st team all-tournament, and 1st team all-state honors. 2nd Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-Tournament honors were awarded to Junior Jason Conduff and Freshman Isaiah Rhoades, with Conduff also receiving 2nd team all-state. The Lady Buffalos battled to a 5th-place finish at the state tournament, receiving the consolation trophy. 2nd team all-conference and 2nd team all-state honors were awarded to Senior Breann Reasoner and Freshman McKenzie Cole. The Buffalos are coached by Brian Johnson. Montie Rhodes and Justin Fogle are assisting.  The Lady Buffalos are coached by Travis Cole, with Jared Asmus as assistant coach.
