Frances Jane (Hillsman) Budd,  73, El Dorado Springs, passed away at the Community Springs Healthcare Facility on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 16, 2020. Frances was born August 24, 1946, at Schell City, Missouri, the daughter of Clarence Hillsman and Clara (Chandler) Hillsman. Frances graduated from El Dorado Springs High School. She worked at Dunbrooke Shirt Factory and Witt Printing.

Frances married Bobby Joe Budd on Feb. 21, 1964. They were married 55 years. To their union, four children were born.

Frances and Bobby lived their entire married lives in El Dorado Springs. Frances worked in town, but loved being at home on the family farm. For years she raised a garden and in later years used raised beds to provide fresh vegetables and fruits for the family and friends. She canned and froze the extra for usage throughout the year. Frances enjoyed sewing, and making and mending clothes for her family. She loved flowers and filled the yard with roses, tulips, lilacs, irises, peonies, etc.

Frances was a hard worker, always setting the perfect example with her work ethic and dedication including numerous years of perfect attendance. While work was important to Frances, her true focus was that of a wife, mother and grandmother. She was dedicated to taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren. Family was her life. She had a way of knowing what was needed and helping make it happen before they even knew it was needed. Frances was selfless, always putting others before herself. She listened, was a confidant, providing comfort, direction and advice. She was fair and objective. Her family dedication will be missed. There will never be another like her.

Frances was saved on Sept. 30, 1962, at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist church. She was baptized in 1964, and became a member of Hazel Dell Missionary Baptist church, where she served as a faithful Christian and was a lifetime member.
