ST. CLAIR COUNTY SHERIFF

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made eight arrests, took three stealing and one burglary report during the week of June 4-11, 2018.

Warrant Arrests

Shad Bryant- On June 11, Shad Bryant, 37, Aurora, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on three Newton County warrants for a class E felony driving while revoked or suspended, misdemeanor B speeding by 20-25 mph over, and an ordinance charge of failure to register motor vehicle. Total bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety and $607 cash only.

     

Earl Pinkman- On June 11, Earl Pinkman, 38, Sheldon, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failure to appear in court on two original counts of class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class A misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

The charges stem from the Osceola Police Department on Nov. 13, 2017.

Ashley Vandenburg- On June 11, Ashley Vandenburg, 29, Nevada, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failure to appear in court on an original class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $2,500 cash only.

The charges stem from a traffic stop by a St. Clair County deputy on Nov. 17, 2017. During the traffic stop, a K9 did an exterior sniff search of the vehicle, and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag, that field tested positive for methamphetamines.

     

Angel Kirk- On June 9, Angel Kirk, 39, Clinton, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance, class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and a class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid of 10 grams or less. Kirk was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy pulled over a vehicle that Kirk was a passenger in for a traffic violation. The deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle and advised that he was going to give him a warning for the traffic violation. The deputy asked for and was given consent to search the vehicle. Kirk, a passenger of the vehicle, told the deputy that she had some marijuana in her purse and an eyeglass case that had a syringe with some residue on it. During a search of the vehicle, the drugs and paraphernalia were recovered from Kirk’s purse and immediate area.

     

Rodrigo Diaz- On June 8, Rodrigo Diaz, 32, Springfield, MA, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class A felony trafficking drugs in the first degree, class D felony possession of a controlled substance, and a class E felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Diaz is on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy pulled over a vehicle that Diaz was a passenger in for a traffic violation. During a search of the vehicle drug paraphernalia was found in the passenger door where Diaz was sitting and under his seat. While being booked into the St. Clair County Jail, Diaz was found to have a large amount of a white crystal substance on his person. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamines.

Jason Brekken- On June 8, Jason Brekken, 31, Springfield, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Brekken was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after the vehicle that Brekken was driving was pulled over for a traffic violation. During a search of the vehicle a glass pipe was found in the vehicle along with other paraphernalia that was in a backpack of a passenger of the vehicle.

     

Kaitlyn Rippe- On June 8, Kaitlyn Rippe, 22, Springfield, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class C felony delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid and a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Rippe was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after the vehicle Rippe was a passenger in was pulled over for a traffic violation. During a search of the vehicle, drug paraphernalia was found in a backpack that Rippe stated was hers. She claimed the other passenger of the car gave her a bag and she put it in her backpack.

   

Nathan Taylor- On June 5, Nathan Taylor, 53, Osceola, was arrested on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Taylor was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after St. Clair County deputies assisted detectives from the Missouri Drug Task Force. Drug Task Force detectives made contact with Taylor at his residence. The detectives asked for consent to search his house and Taylor granted permission. During the search of the residence, a St. Clair County deputy found a plastic bag with marijuana in it. After further conversation with detectives, Taylor turned over more marijuana and some paraphernalia.

Taylor admitted to the marijuana being his.

Burglary in Collins

On June 8, A St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on SE 1200 Road in Collins in reference to a burglary.

Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the property owner, Larry Dablemont. Dablemont stated that some friends come down to the property on evening of June 7. On June 8, the couple noticed the door to the garage was open and contacted Dablemont.

Dablemont stated that two Gravely zero turn mowers were missing. One was a 48 inch and the other was a 42 inch mower. A request for prosecution was filled out.

Stealing in Lowry City

On June 6, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to Windmill RV Park on NE 800 Road in Lowry City in reference to a stolen truck.

Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Ward Casey. Casey stated that he had received a truck as payment for doing some work on a property for an individual. Casey stated he had the title to the truck in the glove box and had put his license plates from another truck onto the newly acquired truck. Casey stated the truck was at his friend’s, Thorn Thomas’ house on SE 475 Road.

Casey stated he received a phone call on June 1st that Thomas had taken the truck and left. Casey advised the deputy that Thomas was using methamphetamines. Casey also stated he has tried to call Thomas, with no luck.

Casey stated he was not worried about the truck, but does want his license plates back and his personal papers that were in the vehicle. Total estimated lost value $150.

Stealing in Collins

On June 5, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on SE 551 Road in Collins in reference to stolen property.

Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Cheryl Kraft. Kraft stated that an unknown person(s) entered her shed a stole a 3000 watt generator, Dewalt Miter Saw, and multiple extension cords.

Kraft was unsure when the incident occurred.

Estimated total loss value is $1,210.

Stealing in Osceola

n June 4, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to the Port C Store in Osceola in reference to stolen gas.

Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a store employee. The employee stated that a white RV with green stripes, towing a small red Ford SUV, drove off without paying for the gas.

The deputy immediately had dispatch relay the vehicle information to the surrounding counties. A search of the local area came up empty.

The deputy returned to the Port C Store and spoke with Tyler Bryant. Bryant showed the deputy video footage of the vehicle. The video shows a white RV, towing a small red Ford SUV, pull up to the pump. Two females came from the direction of the RV, entered the store then left a short time later. The RV pulled away from the pump and drove behind the building and exited the parking lot onto Highway 82.

A request for prosecution was filled out.
