Saturday, Rich and Marty Patton went to Olathe to see Tony, Ashley and Jessa Patton. They had lunch at Oklahoma Joe’s and Dexter Patton came over after lunch.
Jenise Burch attended the PEO Chapter meeting in Nevada Tuesday.
Having Sunday dinner with Charles and me were David and Betsy Foreman, Brooklyn and Carter, Christine and Corey Graham and Katie and Brice Budd.
Visiting with Bob and Laura Clinton were Donna Davidson, and Jeff and Jodee Fanning. Dustin Davidson cleared the ice and snow from their driveway and visited them Sunday.
Betty and Norman Radde attended an auction at her cousin’s, Britt and Alice Lay, Sunday afternoon in El Dorado Springs.
Tyler Garrison and Angela Potter of Bolivar visited Charles and me Saturday afternoon.
On Friday, a group of preteens with Walker Christian Church traveled to Tulsa, OK, to Christ In Youth: Super Start. where they learned about “Decoding Love”. Attending were Hadley Bruce, Cole Burch, Kate Burch, Chase Craig, Bryce Eaton, Faith Hurley, Elijah Nadurata, Sarina Stewart, Niya Talbert and Heaven Tignor along with adult sponsors Crystal Burch, Jason Eaton, Rachelle Hurley and Devin Robertson.
Walker Christian Church will have their Spring Revival starting March 3-6, with Travis Hurley speaking at 7 p.m. each evening.
Walker Christian Church will host their Men’s Banquet on Monday March 11. All area men are invited to attend the meal and hear Doug Aldridge.
The weather has certainly provided entertainment this week. I probably could count on one hand the times I’ve heard thunder and saw lightning flash while it snowed and sleeted. When we have that kind of storm, I go into a cooking frenzy. Chet and Marla Foreman, Regan Kannady and Christine and Corey Graham had to come and help us eat all the stuff Thursday evening. Corey, Brooklyn and Carter spent Friday with us.
Kathy and Mike Newman hosted a birthday dinner Tuesday for their daughter, Kayla Loyd. Those present were Kayla and Cody Loyd, and Ethan, Jared Witter, and Ernest Nikodim.
The Schell City Alumni officers will hold a planning meeting March 10 at 4 p.m. at the home of Jerry and Jenise Burch. The alumni reunion will be held in May on Memorial Day weekend.
Debbie and Denny Wallace visited Bob and Jane Hutchison Saturday afternoon. They brought Paxton and Jayna Hardy to visit. Arlene Good visited her parents Sunday afternoon.
Alberta and Glen Hays attended basketball games this week to watch Payton and Haley play. Sunday, they went to the home of Andy and Tammy Hays with a birthday cake and some gifts. Someone in that household turns 40 Monday. They played cards, watched the Daytona 500 and watched his cake go up in smoke because of so many candles.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Janice Flint of Harwood. She was always active in the affairs of the school and community until illness overtook her. She will be missed.
Charles and I attended the Cindy Phillips auction Saturday. While there, we visited with Leslie Wallace who said his parents lived on that land 81 years ago. Tim Koehn purchased the farm so there will be local owners.
Jack and Sharon Wallace and Danielle McWilliams visited Elnora Wallace.
Eleanor Willson took Clare Willson home to Archie Monday and took Kelsey and Emily shopping at Belton.
Jered and Crystal Burch, Kate and Cole had lunch with Jerry and Jenise Burch Sunday.
Gilbert and Eleanor Willson went to Branson Wednesday. Friday, they attended the farm show in Kansas City, and Saturday they made a trip to Joplin.
