Lloyd Dennis Wilhoit, 55, formerly of Lamar, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, at North Village Park Nursing Home in Moberly.
Dennis was born July 12, 1957, at Clinton, one of the two sons of Lloyd E. and Christine (Struke) Wilhoit. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Thomas Wilhoit.
Dennis acquired his great work ethic growing up on the family farm near Montevallo. He was confirmed in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada. After graduating from El Dorado High School in 1976, he continued to work on the farm and later was employed by the Sheltered Workshops in Nevada and Lamar. Dennis was neat and meticulous in every aspect of his life and worked hard to accomplish any challenge before him. He enjoyed fishing, country music and watching cartoons. His generous nature was evident to all who knew him, and his special niece, Shadell, was often showered with his favorite gift of stuffed animals.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Stacy Wilhoit Norman, and a niece, Shadell Wilhoit, both of El Dorado Springs.
Services were Tuesday, May 7, at Daniel Funeral Home with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery Nevada.
