Lions Club sponsorship of a coming Wounded Warrior project event at our local Lions facility went well. A biscuit and gravy breakfast event will take place from 7-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the facility.

Fifty-four individual donations were volunteered at the Lions Club Picnic promotion exhibit table. The donations will go to the Wounded Warrior project for aid and assistance in rehabilitation of the retiring military men and women and their families who have received various kinds of wounds from combat exposure in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Donations ranged from $5 to $100. Donors came as far away as Midland, TX. El Dorado Springs and surrounding community donors were very responsive. The Lions Club, on behalf of our warriors, thank each of you for your support and concern.

A $100 donation was made by our Missouri State Senator Mike Parson to cover as a donation for any veteran who would like to attend the Sept. 7 biscuit and gravy breakfast. Interested veterans, please call 876-6127 for attendance-sign up arrangements.

Donation arrangement for the event can be made by contacting our Lion Club members, supporting businesses or calling 876-6127.
