March 15, James Shoemaker, 32, Kansas City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class D felony possession of a controlled substance, class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and a class D misdemeanor driving while revoked. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety. The charge stems from a Lowry City Police Department investigation the previous day.

March 17 – Helen Gowin, 58, Blairstown, was arrested at the St. Clair County Courthouse on a Henry County warrant for probation violation on an original class C felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. The warrant was issued on March 3 and bond is set at $10,000 cash only. The original charge stems from a Henry County Sheriff’s office investigation in January 2012.     

Daniel Wire, 53, Osceola, was arrested at the St. Clair County Courthouse on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class D felony possession of a controlled substance and class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. The warrant was issued on March 17 and bond is set at $10,000.00 cash or surety. The charges stem from an Osceola Police Department investigation on Jan. 2.

March 18 – Justin Swofford, 32, Osceola, was arrested on four St. Clair County warrants for failing to appear in court. Total bond is set at $35,000 cash or surety.

Swofford is facing a class C felony charge of possessing a controlled substance. The warrant was issued on May 4, 2016, and the original charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s office investigation on April 4, 2014. During the investigation a glass pipe that field tested positive for methamphetamine was located.             Swofford is also charged with class A misdemeanor theft. The warrant was issued on May 4, 2016, and stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s office investigation on April 2, 2014, when Anna Reed reported a theft at her residence on SE 400 Rd. She reported various tools missing along with a floor jack.

He is charged with class A misdemeanor violation of a protection order. The warrant was issued on May 4, 2016, and stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s office investigation on April 14, 2014, when Swofford went to a residence and got into a car and asked for money from an individual who had an active order of protection against him.

Swofford is also facing a class A misdemeanor domestic assault-third degree. The warrant was issued on May 4, 2016, and the original charge stems from an incident on March 8 when a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a domestic call at a residence on SE 400 Rd, Collins. When the deputy arrived on scene, Swofford was allegedly asking a female victim not to press charges against him. The female reported Swofford put her into a choke hold and had his arm around her mouth. The deputy took photos of cuts on the inside upper and lower lips of the female. She stated when she tried to leave Swofford “grabbed” her and would not let her go. The female said she was able to get to her vehicle, but each time she started to drive off, Swofford would stand in the way of the vehicle. She stayed in her vehicle until a deputy arrived. Swofford voluntarily gathered his belongings and left the residence.

John Snethen, 40, Collins, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class A misdemeanor domestic assault third degree. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. The charge stems from an Osceola Police Department investigation on Sept. 18, 2016.

St. Clair County deputy took a stealing report on West Fourth Street, Appleton City.

Becky Morris reported a five gallon gas can with approximately two gallons of gasoline missing from her front porch. She described the can as red with her initials BM on it on all four sides and the bottom in permanent marker. The value of the gas can and gas was estimated at $34.

March 19 – Harley Wilkerson, 25, Collins, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class D felony possession of controlled substance, class D misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and class D misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Total bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation the previous day when deputies were called to South 14th Street, Collins, in reference to checking the well being of Wilkerson.

During the investigation Wilkerson made admissions to using methamphetamine within the last 48 hours. A bag containing drug paraphernalia was located and a spoon found in the bag field tested positive for methamphetamine. A glass pipe containing a burnt substance consistent with marijuana was also located in the bag.

Misty Huffstutler, 36, Independence, was arrested in St. Clair County on a felony warrant from Independence Police Department and a misdemeanor warrant from Jackson County.

The warrant from Independence Police Department charges her with two counts, class C felony possession of a controlled substance and class A misdemeanor of theft. The warrant from Jackson County is for failing to appear in court on a misdemeanor traffic charge. Total bond is set at $2,000.

Micheal Taylor, 28, Deepwater, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on two counts, class C felony domestic assault-second degree and class D felony resisting arrest. The warrant was issued on March 16 and bond is set at $5,000 cash only. The original charges stem from an Osceola Police Department investigation on April 24, 2016.

Preston Jones, 50, Odessa, was arrested in St. Clair County on a no bond felony warrant for parole violation. The warrant was issued by the Division of Probation and Parole Missouri Department of Corrections. The arrest came after a St. Clair County deputy received a call of individuals walking along C Hwy just before midnight March 18. A check of the individuals revealed Jones had a warrant and he was taken into custody.

Donald Witt, 26, Rockville, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with  three felony counts, class D felony possession of a controlled substance, class E felony unlawful use of a weapon- possessing a weapon and a felony controlled substance, and class E felony of delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation the previous day when a deputy noticed a vehicle sitting at an angle in a field entrance on H Hwy with a male occupant leaning forward in the vehicle.

During the investigation contact was made with the driver, Witt, and a pen was noticed in Witt’s lap. The pen appeared to have been used to snort illegal narcotics. Further investigation discovered what appeared to be a crystalline substance inside a modified light bulb lying under the driver’s seat. A metal container with two small bags of what appeared to be a crystalline substance was located inside the glove box. A Kel-Tec .380 caliber pistol containing six .380 rounds of ammunition in the magazine was located in the console. A black backpack containing two bags of marijuana, numerous unused small bags, q-tips and a digital scale was located in the trunk. Admissions were made and the substance in the light bulb field tested positive for methamphetamine. Witt was taken into custody and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

March 21 – Danny Pryor, 50, Louisburg, was arrested on two St. Clair warrants for failing to appear in court on an unclassified misdemeanor driving while revoked-second or subsequent offense and class C misdemeanor exceeding the posted speed limit by 11-15 miles per hour. The warrants were issued on Jan. 25, 2016, and total bond is set at $1,220.

March 23 – Timothy Kreisler, 48, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class C felony domestic assault second degree. Bond is set at $20,000 cash only.

The charge stems from a sheriff’s office investigation in the early morning hours the same day after dispatch received a 911 call from a female screaming for help. Approximately 30 minutes prior to the call, a deputy investigated a domestic incident on NE 601 Rd, Osceola, involving Kreisler and a female that resides with him. It was noted the female repeatedly screamed for help saying she was bleeding and a male subject could be heard yelling in the background.

When the deputy arrived, Kreisler was in the living room, but a female was not in sight. Blood was found in a bedroom of the residence. While waiting for additional units to assist, a female approached the back door and motioned for the deputy to come outside. She was crying, visibly shaken, bleeding from her nose, and had several marks on her face.

The female explained Kreisler grabbed her by the hair, pulled her off the couch, slammed her face in the floor and repeatedly struck her in the face with his fist. Kreisler was taken into custody and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

St. Clair County deputies took a property damage report on West Fourth Street, Appleton City. James Winters reported graffiti painted on the back on the building and on top of the roof.

March 24 – Jacob Hudgens, 40, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with probation violation on an original class A misdemeanor charge of domestic assault-third degree. The warrant was issued March 15. Bond is set $1,000 cash only. The original charge stems from a sheriff’s office investigation on June 19, 2016, when deputies responded to a disturbance on NE 276 Rd, Osceola.  Hudgens allegedly struck a female victim with a closed fist and choked her on three different occasions.

In the early morning hours on March 24, a St. Clair County deputy took a theft report at Shelby’s Convenience Store, Lowry City. An employee reported a customer came into the store to purchase a case of beer, a bottle of Fireball liquor, popcorn and Gatorade. The Fireball was behind the counter and given to the customer. After realizing it was too late to sell alcohol the individual was notified the alcohol could not be purchased due to the time. The employee took the beer back to the cooler while another employee finished the transaction.

After purchasing the popcorn and Gatorade, the customer left the store, but did not return the bottle Fireball to the counter and instead took it. The employee attempted to catch the customer, but was too late. A suspect was named and a vehicle description was given. The case was forwarded to the Lowry City Police Department for further investigation.
