The morning message at the Rockville United Methodist Church by Pastor Larry Sorrells was “Press On” from Philippians 3:4-14. We welcome you to join us for Worship at 9 a.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. for Bible Study, 5 p.m. Thursday for Women’s Bible study.
Mt. Zion area had a shower of rain the past week, a lot of cooler temperatures. Harvesting still going on, leaves are getting a little color, folks don’t have to leave our area to see the beautiful fall colors. The hummingbirds seem to be gone now.
Mt. Zion Club will meet on Oct 21, at 9 a.m. for a breakfast meeting in the Marge Zink home.
Our love and prayers to the Donnie and Charlene Crayton family their daughter passed away recently.
Enjoyed a phone call from Dixie Peterson who is doing therapy at Truman Lake Manor.
Tom Pelkey has been busy getting the Wood Fairy ready for Halloween, plus cutting more wood. Beverly keeps busy feeding the cats and doing her fall cleaning.
Marge Zink visited Archie and Judy Pier in Appleton City and meeting the new kittens.
Julia and John Snethen had a quiet week Julia went to Appleton City shopping John did the Oats Bus trip.
Ladies at Rockville Hand Quilters have been making progress about to finish one quilt. Enjoyed our visitors.
Over at the Robin Siegismund Farm, Belle wants everyone to know she stays focused on her job, unlike her brother, Petey. Last week Robin and Daniel and the dogs went to pick up walnuts in the pasture. Petey soon tires of walnut picking and goes off to investigate a brush pile and wants Belle to come to see what he has found, all the barking and begging. But Belle, having been lectured of late on what her jobs are, didn’t go to see. So Petey will show Belle what fun she will miss; he goes into the brush pile after lots of barking, yapping and howling, he does come out with a big coon. Belle was proud of him, but she preferred to do her job helping with the walnuts. Walnuts are plentiful and nice the year.
