On Saturday, September 17, the El Dorado Springs cross country team headed to Joplin, for the Missouri Southern Stampede, a cross country meet at Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course. It was a hot, but breezy day.

The girls got things started, running in the Gold Division race at 11:05. Hannah Klaiber, Colbie Wood and Audrey Goatley led the way as a pack for the Lady Dogs. In the end, these 3 were the only Lady Dogs to make the awards podium in the top 25, all with season best performances. Hannah Klaiber finished 7th with a time of 20:49, while teammate Colbie Wood finished 9th with a time of 20:54 and Audrey Goatley finished right behind in 10th with a time of 20:55. These 3 were joined by teammates Lela Brown, Hanna Ridgway, Olivia Graves, Clara Farran and Myka Barger to finish 3rd place as a team. The team ran extremely well, with all but one of the runners running a season best time.

The boys team also ran in the Gold Division race, getting things started at 12:25. Connor Goatley led the way for the Bulldogs, finishing 7th with a season best time of 17:03. Also, joining him on the awards stand was Garrett Klaiber, finishing 24th with a season best time of 17:39. These two were joined by teammates Braxton Watts, Logan Fisk, Blayze McCullough, Sylas Fletcher, Kolton Nichols, Ryan Griffin, Kyan Roberts and Blake Loane to bring home a 2nd place plaque as a team. This is the first plaque earned by the Bulldog boys at this meet.

Overall, everyone ran well. It was a great day to be a Bulldog. Next up for the Bulldog Cross Country team is a trip to Hermitage on Saturday, September 24 at the Pomme De Terre Outlet Park.
