If you missed the March General Meeting on the 20th., you missed a very competitive trivia contest presented by guest speakers from the Senior Life Solutions Dept. with team 1 being victorious by one point and earning beautifully decorated, scrumptious cupcakes!

Terry Nichols brought the group up to date on some of the challenges facing the hospital and the successes. The memorial gift in honor of Janice Heitz Dozler Preston, selected by the nurses, is a fabulous espresso maker and has been ordered. An engraved plaque has also been ordered.

The hospital selected not to sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt this year as so many other organizations and churches do so. An event will be held later that will need our support. More info to come as it becomes available.

On Friday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to noon in the front lobby, the Auxiliary will sponsor a bake sale! Get out those recipes and start thinking how you will decorate your baked goods for the sale! Items may be dropped off on Thursday afternoon at the gift shop or bring your decorated items to the sale on Friday morning by 9:15 please. (Flavored pop corn is popular, cookies of course, and cupcakes, pies are always a big hit!) Our bake sales help earn money for our annual donations of equipment and etc to the hospital. Thank you so much for your support.

The Auxiliary is excited to announce the arrival of Spring merchandise in the gift shop! You can find fun flowers with heartwarming messages or precious, “save it for a rainy day”,  banks that are shelf sitters! You can find some old fashion “hoop” wall hangings, as well as some great framed art work. Are you looking for a gift for a friend that likes to cook? Come and check out some nice kitchen sets at the gift shop. If you are a nostalgia buff, check out the vintage style “Days of the Week”  kitchen towels that will actually dry dishes!

We will be featuring a local vendor, Traci Ennis and her wonderful “Blind Date with a Book” line of gifts – or get something special for yourself!  We carry a variety of greeting cards at 50 cents each as well as gently used books at 50 cents each or 3 for $1. Because we are tax exempt, we don’t charge tax!  Stop in and shop!

Gift Shop hours are Monday through Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. A volunteer to help with scheduling for the gift shop is needed as well as volunteers to cover a shift occasionally. Orientation is provided. Please talk to Sherry Wiseman or Sharon Young to find out more.
