HAPPY 102 – Georgia Audrey Rhoad and the staff at Community Springs Health Care Facility celebrated her 102nd birthday on Friday, Sept.2. Audrey was born in Nebraska on Sept. 5, 1914. She has been a resident at Community Springs since 2013.

The regular monthly meeting of the Cedar County High Hopes Cancer Support Group will be held on the second Wednesday of September as usual. The annual reunion of the descendants of Erma Esta Davis Miller Boultinghouse is scheduled for the third Sunday in September, Sept. 18, in the El Dorado Springs Civic Center. Doors will open at 11:30. Basket dinner about 12:30.
Since most of our 1959 graduating class have had or will have a 75th birthday this year, we will have a birthday party on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the El Dorado Mexican Restaurant in downtown El Dorado Springs. Those who want to have a meal will meet at 12 p.m. for a dutch treat meal.
The Julian, Sumner annual family reunion will be Sunday, Sept. 11, in the meeting room at the El Dorado Springs Civic Center. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Bring your best covered dish and your own silverware. Drinks will be available. There will be gifts. Join us and visit.
TOPS Chapter 319 El Dorado Springs (Take Off pounds Sensibly) met in the Church Of Christ meeting room on Thursday, Sept. 1. Our leader, Robbie, opened the meeting. Kay led us in singing “Hand In Hand.” Twenty-seven members weighed in today. Angie was our week’s best loser with a loss of 5.2 lbs. Congratulations Angie
Schell City is getting ready to celebrate the 145th anniversary of the town next weekend, Sept. 8-9. That’s 10 years older than El Dorado Springs. Sounds like they have a lot of good times planned.
