On Monday, July 11, at the request of Barton County Sheriff Mitchell Shaw, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Barton County Deputies, responded to a rural area approximately three miles southeast of Lamar to a report of a body located in a farm pond. Current information is the body is of an unidentified infant female.

Each year we pause to remember day’s gone bye, renew old friendships, meet new friends, have some school class reunions and enjoy the carnival and entertainment in our City Park and our downtown area.
The 2016 baby contest will be held at the Opera House Theater. Registration will open at the bandstand in the park at 9 a.m. and will close at 9:55 a.m. Participants will then meet at the Theater after registering. The entry fee will be $5 (cash only). All El Dorado Springs R-2 Schools patrons are invited to attend an open meeting regarding district facilities needs, possible solutions and possible bond issue for the November election cycle. The meeting will be held in the HS Library at 7 p.m. Monday, July 18. The district would appreciate public feedback regarding these issues.

The Wayside Inn Museum will host a Needlework and Quilt Exhibit during the El Dorado Springs Picnic, July 21-24. This exhibit is open to needlework and quilters in El Dorado Springs, formerly from El Dorado Springs, and the surrounding area.
