The only thing “soft” about the opening and ribbon cutting at Pappy’s new restaurant Tuesday evening was the name, officially billed the Chamber of Commerce exclusive dedication dinner and ribbon cutting celebration but called a “soft” opening. It was hard to find a parking place and a vacant chair inside the 170 seating capacity structure.

Governor Mike Parson recently signed legislation to modify age requirements for marriage licenses in Missouri that will take effect on Aug. 28. The El Dorado Springs City Council, at its regular Aug. 13 meeting, appointed a board of directors for a board set up for the sale of the Opera House Theater to Cameron Cowell.
