The Missouri Department of Conservation will conduct Hunter Education courses on Oct. 15, at the Stockton Elementary Cafeteria and Oct. 22, at the Humansville Community Hall. Hunters who were born on or after Jan. 1, 1967, and are 16 or older must successfully complete an approved hunter-education course to qualify to buy firearms hunting permits.

On Friday, Sept. 16, the Mo-Kan Square Dancers will have a square dance with Kenton Sullivan calling.  This will be held from 7:30 to 10 p.m. in the Home Ec building at the Vernon County Fairgrounds in Nevada.  Admission is $5 per adult dancer and $3 per youth dancer.  All area dancers and interested persons

There will be an all you can eat breakfast smorgasbord in Fair Haven Park from 7 – 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17. The menu will offer pancakes, biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage and coffee or tea. The donation for adults will be $5, children 4 – 10 – $3, kids under 4 eat free.
