JD and Jean Wilson of Walker celebrated 60 years of marriage on Feb. 16.

JD and Jean were united in holy matrimony in Ridgeland, SC, on Feb. 16, 1957 after being high school sweethearts in El Dorado Springs.

They made their home in Savannah, GA while JD was in the Air Force. Jean spent these years as a homemaker. Three children were blessings of this union. Tamela Jean (Tammy), John Douglas Jr. and Karen Sue.

The Wilson’s returned to El Dorado Springs in 1968 to operate Adam’s Grill until 1975. Many people enjoyed Jean’s homemade pies and JD’s short order cooking.

JD then went on to be a supervisor in the Maker’s Department at 3M until retirement in 1999. Jean managed the Cedar County Abstract and Title Company on Spring Street for 21 years, and she too retired in 1999.

JD and Jean also raised and bred Quarter horses for many years in the area. The Wilson have five grandchildren and seven great-grand children.
