The El Dorado Springs Progress Club presented the Cedar County First Responders with a check for $1,000 for medical supplies on April 20. Receiving the gift were First Responders President John Wright and Secretary/Treasurer Glenda Van Bummel.

The First Responders are trained to help in time of need at they may arrive on the scene of the accident before the ambulance. Whether it’s a home, fall or a car or work accident, they will respond and help until the ambulance gets there. The only money they receive is from donations or fundraisers and they have to buy all their medical supplies. The Cedar County First Responders are really appreciated.

The Progress Club has given Ron Brown money for the Fire Department kids program, First Baptist Church diaper pantry, El Dorado Community Springs Nursing Home activities fund, El Dorado Springs School homeless kids Christmas Baskets, El Dorado Springs School Coats for Kids, El Dorado Springs Christmas Baskets, Senior Center Christmas socks and Bingo prizes, Bright Futures feminine products, El Dorado Springs Fire Department accessories for their drone, POPS Museum, Cedar County Library-El Dorado Springs branch, El Dorado Springs Show Choir, Scholarships for the Christian School and El Dorado R-II School graduating Senior.

These are a few of the things the El Dorado Springs Progress Club has helped with this past year. Please remember our fundraising of recycled Memorial Day flowers coming up in May. This is how we make money to help our town. “Help us help others” is our motto.
