TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Firefly Services building 700 E. Hospital Rd, Thursday, Oct. 22, for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Warren called the meeting to order

Phyllis led us in singing “It’s in Our Hands”

We said our TOPS & KOPS pledges

Warren led us in roll call; 17 members weighed in today. We had losses of 10.8 pounds, and gains of 4.4 pounds. Giving us a net loss of 6.4! There were a lot of good losses this week, to name a few, Phyllis lost 1.4, Jo lost 1.6 and our new member, Mark lost 4.0 pounds, he could not stay for the meeting so the best loser award went to Pat with a loss of 3.0 pounds. Congratulations to all the losers, we are so proud of all of you.

Linda Hall had the program today, she was our Bus Driver, members had to present the driver with our “ticket to ride”.

First rider: Reducing calories or exchanges can help burn the calories I’ve already stored as fat.

Second rider: Lowering fat intake makes it easier to take off my weight

Third rider: Increasing my exercise speeds up my metabolism, burns calories, tones muscles and improves circulation.

Fourth rider: Drinking water helps suppress my appetite and is necessary for many functions of a healthy body.

Fifth rider: Eat smaller portions of a wide variety of foods. Appetites for various types of tastes will be satisfied while I lose extra pounds and “A little less of food can be a little less of me”.

Sixth rider: I will try baking or broiling meats instead of frying or sauteing. I’ll eat plain foods without gravies or sauces and remember fresh fruits and vegetables are always a good choice.

Seventh rider: Eat healthy snacks instead of junk food. There is a great variety of healthy snacks today. I will try some of them, but I will choose wisely.

Thank you for the Ride, Linda. Great program and all the TOPS will be riding a little lighter.

Next week Phyllis will have the program.

Warren asked if the chapter wanted a Christmas Party? We usually do a low-calorie snack and a gift exchange with each member bringing a gift in the $15 range. Pat made a motion to have the Christmas Party on the 10th of December. Linda H. 2nd the motion and motion carried.

Marble Game: Jo won the right to draw but did not get the winning one. The pot is at $10 and growing.

Contest: remember to keep up the information by recording your activities.

Remember we will be meeting on Tuesday on Thanksgiving week.

With no other business we closed with our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME”
