On Tuesday, March 1, at 10:39 a.m. the fire department was dispatched to a farm south of town on 601 Rd. to a reported hay bales on fire. Four trucks and seven firefighters responded.
Later that afternoon at 1:04 p.m. two trucks and four firefighters responded to a mutual aid call in Vernon County to assist the Walker Fire Department on a grass fire.
On Wednesday, March 2, at 2:13 p.m. the department was dispatched to a grass and natural cover fire on S. 701 Rd. While responding, we were sent to another grass fire on SW 82 Hwy. in St. Clair County. Total of four trucks and eight firefighters responded.
On Thursday, March 3, at 12:14 a.m. the fire department was dispatched to a residence on 274 Rd. for a smoke alarm sounding. No problem was found. Two trucks and 12 firefighters responded. Later at 1:40 a.m. the department was sent to a grass fire at 32 Hwy. and 501 Rd. Three trucks and nine firefighters responded. While there the department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 1:58 a.m. Turned out to be just some debris burning in a yard on Kirkpatrick. Several truck and 14 firefighters went there.
