Lion Lewis Carnes lives in Stockton and has been an active member of the El Dorado Lions Club for the past six years. His “Partner in Service” is Lion Sharon; also a member of the El Dorado Lions Club.

While Lewis’s actual; membership in the Lions Club International organization is fairly recent; he has a long history of working with LCI for many years before he because a member. While stationed in Bamburg, Germany, during his military career he spent many hours working with the local Germany Lions Club International organization. Lion Lewis continued this association with LCI after returning to the United States; he worked with the Lions Club in Apple Valley, CA, once again helping in their community programs.

Governor Lewis served for 13 years in the US Army, reaching the rank of Warrant officer II. During his military career he participated in many “hands on” Leadership Training classes where he had ample opportunity to practice those newly learned skills.

Lion Lewis has served as President, Vice President, Director of the Board for the El Dorado Lion Club and Chaired various Committees. He has been an active member of the El Dorado Lion Club and works their community projects. He has served o many District and State level positions; as 2nd Vice District Governor served as the District Global Leadership representative and participated in all GLT programs at teach Council of Governors. While Lion Lewis was the 1st Vice District Governor he participated in the Global Membership Team activities.

He said, “As your District Governor for 2016-2017, it is my sincere desire to increase our Lions Club membership and promote harmony throughout our District.”

“On June 19, 2016, I took a trip to the Lions Club international convention in Japan which was a long trip. About 16 hours to get to my destination in Japan, that was beginning from Springfield. I had a great time in Japan. I was in Japan for nine days at the international convention.”

“The first three days were intense training along with our last two years of training. We marched in the international parade and shook hands with Lions from around the world.”
