GRANDPA’S NEIGHBORS – Sunday was a special day. We began services by singing our opening chorus, We Worship and Adore You. Then Carl give us a test from the Book of Matthew on the genealogy of Christ, before going to our classes.
After Sunday School we sang, Happy Birthday, to both Shawn Bray whose birthday was August 2nd, and Larry Bray, whose birthday was August 21st. We had several updates and answered prayers and new prayer requests, which include Orville Taylor and Norma Taylor, Claud Hoffman, and Joan McPeak. Following the special service, several gathered for a prayer circle with the laying on of hands for Joan McPeak for healing and comfort from pain.
After Communion, Brother Dennis gave a warm welcome to our members and guests (we had 76 in attendance) who had gathered for a special concert by “Grandpa’s Neighbors” – the Neal family, Carol, Abigail, Lydia, JoAnna, Susanna and Damaris Neal. What a wonderful, Spirit filled service they gave. It was a joy that we all shared.
A bountiful carry-in meal and such sweet fellowship followed this special morning of praising our savior. We look forward to hosting the Neal family – Grandpa’s Neighbors- again Next year the last Sunday in August for this annual event.
