TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the United Methodist Church, 201 E Broadway on Thursday, Nov. 21, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting.
Leader Susan opened the meeting with the TOPS & KOPS Pledges. Kay and Carol led us in singing “Join Us.”
Susan thanked everyone who participated in the Christmas Parade. Special thanks to Steve and Juanita for the use of their truck and trailer. We got a lot of nice comments on our float.
Don’t forget the Christmas party is Dec. 12. Susan asked if everyone wanted to do the gift exchange as we have done in the past. Someone reading a story and passing to left or right as certain words are said. Everyone was in agreement we do this. The gift cost should be somewhere in the $15 to $20 range and can be a craft, new item or regift something you can’t use. Marie said she would do the story.
Marble game, Sue C won the right to draw, she drew a red one so got to draw again, she then drew the yellow one and received the prize bag from Sheryl Ann. The pot is at $35 this week.
We sang Happy Birthday to Margie, Laura and Jean.
Susan led us in roll call and walking report. 23 weighed in today, the chapter had a 5 lb. net loss this week. The weeks best loser was Robbie with a loss of 4.6 lbs. Way to go Robbie.
Other good losses were; Chris 3.4, Sandi 2.2, Marie 1.6, Linda C 1.6, Laura 1.4. Congratulations to all our Losers.
The floor was then turned over to Margie for the program. We were invaded by a bunch of turkeys trying to get everyone to eat beef. The turkeys were so cute. Margie had some recipes she shared with us. Thank you, Margie, and cast you are so talented and we are so lucky to have you.
With no other business meeting was adjourned with our quote of the day.
“Life is a grindstone. Whether it grinds us down or polishes us up depends on us.
