Many people have been inquiring as to what the current situation regarding COVID-19 is changing about hunting, fishing and outdoor use in Missouri. The following is a brief update:

The 2020 Spring Turkey Hunting Season will continue as planned WITHOUT any changes.

The fishing permit waiver will end after April 15. Anglers will need to have their fishing permits after that date. This includes trout permits if the angler is catching and keeping trout. This does not include daily trout tags at Missouri trout parks. Those are still being waived until further notice.

MDC is extending the temporary closures of its facilities and cancellations of its public events and programs through April 30. MDC will reassess the situation at that time. Conservation areas, nature center trails and boat accesses are still OPEN.

Those enjoying the outdoors are asked to remember social distancing practices. Keeping six feet between you and others, avoiding crowds and staying home if you feel ill will go a long way in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
