The Missouri Route 82 bridge over Stockton Lake east of Osceola will be closed for up to 102 days while contractor crews work to rehabilitate the bridge beginning the week of April 1, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will replace the deck/driving surface with a new driving surface.

Traffic impacts:

Both lanes of Route 82 closed where crews are working

Drivers will have access to all driveways and entrances at either end of the bridge, but will not be able to drive through the work zone

Drivers will be directed along a signed detour using Missouri Route 82, Missouri Route 13, U.S. Route 54 and Missouri Route 83

Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone

Drivers are urged to find alternate routes during the project

Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

The bridge was built in 1978 with approximately 790 vehicles crossing it each day.

Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
