The June meeting of the Cedar & Vernon County Genealogical Society will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, in the meeting room of the El Dorado Springs Library. Guest Speaker Warren Love will talk about the Civil War.

Love, a carpenter by trade, spent many years operating Love Construction building residential homes and barns. The Love family owned and operated the ToadSuck Grill in Iconium for several years and he previously worked for MoorMan Manufacturing Company selling livestock minerals and feed. He currently serves as the State Representative for the 125th District, which covers Hickory and St. Clair Counties and portions of Benton and Cedar Counties.

The genealogy meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month. The meetings alternate between El Dorado Springs and Nevada. For more information, call 417/876-2633 or 417/922-3596.
