Next Sunday, June 19, the ladies will observe Father’s Day by fixing breakfast for the men.

Mt. Zion Home Bible study meets each Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Tom and Beverly Pelkey home to study the Bible with five in attendance.

Farmers in the Mt. Zion area are busy harvesting wheat and bailing hay, soybeans are coming up; gardens are producing, life is good.

Marge Zink, Howard and Dixie Peterson attended the Osceola High School reunion Saturday night; it was good seeing our classmates but the crowd is getting less and less each year.

Beverly Pelkey had eye surgery this past week and is doing fine.

A good time was had at the fair in Appleton City. It takes a lot of work to keep it going, the flower show and bean supper were my favorites.

Monday John and Julia Snethen went to Butler then on to Clinton running some erands. Thursday Julia went to Warrensburg to pick up her granddaughter, Shella’s, dogs to babysit for the weekend. Shella came by Sunday morning from the lake to pick up two of her babies, Rex and Taylor, (Shella’s older dogs) were happy to see them go.
