SCHELL CITY MEMORIAL CEREMONY – Near perfect weather provided the backdrop for Monday’s Memorial Day service at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Schell City.  A large crowd attended the 11:00 a.m. service where Pastor Roger Beach spoke of the debt owed to the military service members that have given their lives for our freedom. The congregation joined together in two patriotic songs led by Julie Wilson who also provided special music, all accapello. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Navy veteran John R. Hoagland raised the flag for the 63rd consecutive year. Recently the cemetery added two benches to the long recognized gazebo near the center of the cemetery (in photo with Julie Wilson.
