Richard Srch, local grower, was the guest speaker at the Twilight Gardeners Garden Club on Tuesday, November 5, at the home of Pam and Fred Luceusta.

Richard was born in the Chicago area and learned the various aspects of the horticulture business. By 1979 he came to this area and purchased 40 acres halfway between Collins and Stockton. He started growing cuttings of various plants.

In the early 90’s he started growing for Farmers’ Markets. Currently he only grows for the El Dorado Springs Farmers’ Market. Anything extra he takes to Amish auctions.

The discussion centered around various planting methods of flowers shrubs and trees. Srch also mention a new plant, a luminous petunia that glows in the dark.

He brought every attendee at the meeting a Hen and Chicks potted plant.
