Start will losing just one pound of fat

TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Firefly Services building, on Thursday, April 24, for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Our leader, Warren called the meeting to order, Carol led us in singing “Twinkle Twinkle Little TOPS”.

Marilyn led us in some exercise.

Warren led us in our TOPS and KOPS Pledges, and Roll Call.

Seventeen members weighed in today. We had a gain of 6.8 and a loss of 4.8 giving us a net gain of 2.0 pounds. Our best loser was Juanita with a loss of 2.6 pounds AND with this loss Juanita reached her GOAL. Welcome back into the KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) world Juanita.

Linda H had a few awards to catch up on; Sharron received her 20 pounds to her goal certificate and the clothespin to put on the Goal Post, congratulations Sharron, you are almost there.

Warren received his back in black with a perfect attendance certificate.

Steve had the program along with his lovely wife, Juanita. They talked about “Just one pound of fat.” Juanita passed around an example of what one pound of Fat looks like. Steve told us no one wants to just lose one pound, each week at weigh-in we want to lose more than that, but that don’t always happen. That just one pound of fat sneaks on slowly so we don’t even notice when another one pound of fat appears. Don’t think it’s not worth losing just one pound, it is so worth it, and don’t let that one pound of fat sneak up on us. If each week we lost just one pound, we would lose four pounds in a month Thank you, Steve and Juanita, for your great program.

Pat reported on the contest: The winners of the contest are:

1st place, Linda H., 2nd place Steve, 3rd Juanita, and 4th Laura. Congratulations to all who entered the contest. Everyone thought it was a fun contest.

Pat said she is getting together a spreadsheet to help us go along with the TOPS Summer Contest. This starts May 1st and runs to July 31st. She will have the paperwork ready for those who want to enter. Steve made a motion to do this contest with a $3 entry fee, one-half to the chapter and one-half to the winner, Laura and Judy 2nd, motion carried.

Marble Game: there is $24 in the pot, Judy won the right to draw and got the winning marble. Congratulations Judy!

Today several of our members will be traveling to Springfield for our annual TOPS State Recognition Days. We wish them safe travels and many awards!
