When N.H. Cruce first married in 1882 he immediately made plans to build a home on the hill southwest of the Park spring.

The home was originally a four room structure. Additions were made over the years which included a total of 10 rooms. The additions featured a “round” room with many windows and stained glass panels above them on the east side to overlook the Park, three fireplaces, colonades, parlors, our bedrooms, dining room and a family room with a large picture window to also see the Park.

Three statues adorned the lawn along with a fountain, flower urns, ornate wire fence and two white stone-carved bunnies. There was also a two-story carriage house on the property.

Sadly, this once majestic and iconic El Dorado Springs home was torn down in 1979 after being empty for several years and falling into disrepair.
