Marilyn presented the program today. Theme of her program was:
READY………. SET…… SPRING
S SPENDING active time outside for at least 30 minutes 3 X a week.
P PUSH yourself to do a little more at least once a week like walking a little faster or go up an incline.
R REACH out for support if you are having a difficult week your TOPS friends are always here.
I IMPRESS yourself and do something you wouldn’t normally do.
N NOTHING should stand in your way of reaching your goal.
G GREAT things can happen when we take care of our body by having good eating habits and enjoying any kind of exercise.
Make MONDAY your start to a good week, do some stretches, have a good workout and take time to relax.
Exercise is important to keep up strength. Don’t let the winter months allow you to get weak muscles and bones. Start slow and exercise every day. Improvement is a goal!
Marilyn then demonstrated the exercises she has been doing to strengthen her leg after surgery. They are ones everyone should do as they help with strengthening the legs and balance.
Thank you, Marilyn, for a great program.
Marble game: Marie won the right to draw and drew the winning one. She won $17 and the chapter won $17.
Contest: Marilyn said about half of the slots are filled.
Linda Hall said there has been interest from members in doing another Potato Bake. She asked if we wanted to do it this spring. After some discussion it was determined Spring is already here and fall would be best. Robbie made a motion that we hold a Potato Bake on Sept. 15, 2022, Sue 2nd motion carried.
Linda said our Royalty (State Queen, Chapter Queen and Chapter King) lost a total of 168 lbs. She asked about donating $168 ($1 for each pound lost) to the food pantry. Carol made a motion to donate $168 to the food pantry, Laura 2nd motion. Motion carried.
With no other business meeting was adjourned with Linda’s thought of the day: Think about what you need most, and then do it. Is it a cup of tea, a brisk walk, some down time, quiet music, a little rest or reading inspirational literature? Whatever it is, grant yourself permission to do it, even for just a few minutes.
And our Chapter Motto: IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME.
